The Kindness Market held in December 2016 was an amazing learning experience for our second graders and 2nd/3rd grade multi-age classroom students! Great job students on the wonderful handmade items you sold and the excellent math skills you used. You raised a total of $917.22 for the Salvation Army! Thank you to our second grade teachers Ms. Aguilar, Ms. Djikas and Mr. Naber, and to our 2/3 Multi-age teachers Ms. Pasquinelli and Mr. Podlasek, for teaching our children and for coordinating such a creative way for them to learn. Thank you also to the first grade teachers who supported the event by bringing their classes to shop.
So much joyful music making in December! Bravo to our talented students for playing and singing (and dancing) your hearts out at the Chorus/Band/Orchestra Concert, the Kindergarten and 1st Grade December Sing Concerts and the 2nd Grade Winter Music Concert. Much appreciation to our fearless music teachers: Ms. Ablan, Ms. Friesen, Ms. Korelc and Ms. Vogt.
Thank You Thursday Packets Team
Did you know that parent volunteers put together the valuable information “packets” you receive in your children’s folders each Thursday? A very special Thank You to the Thursday Packets team: Mary Dojnik, Jennie Hills, Mabel Medina and Olivia Miller.
Longfellow Bears Bulletin
Kudos to our Longfellow Newspaper Club, advised by Ms. Ibarra, on the release of the latest edition of the Longfellow Bears Bulletin! It can be found by clicking here.
Many thanks to parent volunteers Aileen Landau, Carol Shea and Debra Perry for coordinating and proofing the Longfellow Directory. Thank you, too, Ms. Taylor, Ms. Kaye and Ms. Dolezal for your assistance.
Gift Baskets for OPRF Senior Citizens
In December a huge truckload of beautiful, generous baskets overflowing with gifts and cards were delivered to the United Lutheran Church of Oak Park. The baskets were then delivered to 14 senior citizens in Oak Park and River Forest. Thank you to all the students, families, and staff members who so graciously volunteered to help with this effort!
